That's right folks, we have yet another example of a great new device that is going to save us all. The Guardian reports:
The problem is, as with most technological advances, the potential exists for serious abuse when (not if) it falls into the wrong hands. Imagine the opportunities this presents theives and rapists. Now the bad guys can stop any car "built in the last 10 years" and there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop them.
I guess only time will tell...

A hi-tech device that can bring speeding cars to a halt at the flick of a switch is set to become the latest weapon in the fight against crime.Sounds great, right? With the exception that all those 'hi-speed car chase beeper notification' services will be out of business, this sounds great all around.
Police forces in Britain and the US have ordered tests of the new system that delivers a blast of radio waves powerful enough to knock out vital engine electronics, making the targeted vehicle stall and slowly come to a stop.
