Graphic Images Online

A Pew poll was released yesterday on the topic of graphic pictures of war and Terror online. I can't say that I'm surprised by the results. It appears that nearly half of those questioned disapproved of graphic pictures being posted online, "by a margin of 49 percent to 40 percent."

Further, MSNBC.com had this to say:

MSNBC.com cloaked the more disturbing images with a black "curtain" carrying a warning before visitors click. But the most graphic images were left off the site entirely, consistent with NBC broadcast guidelines, said Dean Wright, the site's editor in chief.

"We want our Web site to be a place where the mainstream news consumer can feel safer," he said. (emphasis added)
Yeah, that's exactly what I've always said: The only thing I want from my news sources is that they make me "feel safer".

Are you kidding me?

That, ladies and gentlemen, should make it all too obvious what the so-called Mainstream Media thinks of you, the Unwashed, Ignent, Masses. You're all just a bunch of little, thin-skinned, scared children who need to be protected by our benevolent news-benefactors.

Two things make me sick: 1) the Media who think that Americans can't handle the Truth and 2) Americans who refuse to handle the Truth. War and acts of Terror are Hell on Earth. What's more, we are in the process of removing a bunch of scum from the Land of the Living for one reason and one reason alone: If we don't kill them, they will kill us. There is absolutely no question that any one of the Terrorists, given the opportunity, would cut my throat from ear to ear while chanting that his 'god' is great. If you doubt that simple fact, you should get your head examined and then thank an American Solider for protecting your confused hide.

So-called news sources making us feel "safer"...what a load of BS. And a dangerous load at that!
