According to police, a surveillance video showed Harold Hatley, 73, leaving his seat at the counter and getting in the line of fire, which enabled others to flee.I hope Mr. Hatley's family can find comfort and solace after this aweful incident. As a fellow American, I am proud of this 'old man' who did not freeze, did not flee, but rather moved to the sound of guns and saved innocent lives.
"Like many brave soldiers and peace officers, Mr. Hatley was walking toward trouble rather than away from it," Police Chief Joe Cortez said.
