It's All About Oil
Obviously. The only reason for going into Iraq (aside from imperialistic reasons) was the oil, right? Without a doubt, between the gas prices this spring (which would be driven down by exploiting Iraq's reserves) and this story (hat tip The Command Post), I think it's pretty clear we're the bad guys here in America.
The only question remaining is: How stupid can people be?

The oil sales, meanwhile, had recently hit the $10 billion level - all money set aside for reconstruction of Iraq. Indeed, the Iraqi authorities have already resumed full control of their oil resources, weeks ahead of the transfer of power: "[T]he most important natural resource has been returned to Iraqis to serve all Iraqis," said Prime Minister Iyad Allawi.
Yep, it's all about the oil all right. It's just not about the US taking the oil.
